Q	What travel and parking arrangements are available at the 2008 Bupa Great Capital Run?

The event starts on South Carriage Drive next to the Prince of Wales Gate. This is located to the South of Hyde Park just off Kensignton Road. The event site is based on the grassed area just off South Carriage Drive, this will be well signed on the day so you won't get lost!

How to get there? - London is serviced by a fantastic Tube network, there are a number of Tube stations within easy walking ditance of the Start, and they are:

HIGH KENSINGTON UNDERGROUND - About a 10 minute walk.

HYDE PARK CORNER - About a 5 minute walk.

KNIGHTSBRIDGE UNDERGROUND - 10 minute walk South West.

MARBLE ARCH UNDERGROUND - 10 minute walk North.

LANCASTER GATE UNDEGROUND - 10 minute walk North.

Please visit www.tfl.gov.uk or call 020 7222 1234 for more information. The organisers strongly advise that you check your travel arrangments the night before your race in case any works are taking place on the Tube lines.

PARKING? There is also limited parking within walking distance from Hyde Park, and they are:

HILTON HOTEL NCP - 10 minutes walk to the Northeast.

KNIGHTSBRIDGE MASTERPARK - 10 minutes walk Southwest.

CARRINGTON ST NCP - 10 minutes walk Northeast.

CADOGAN PLACE NCP - 10 minute walk Southwest.

PAVILION ROAD NCP - 10 minute walk Southwest.

IMPORTANT NOTE - There is no parking available within Hyde Park on event day.

Road closures within Hyde Park will be operational from 0500 on the day of the event.

Q	What will I need on the day of the 2008 Bupa Great Capital Run?

Don't forget your race number and Champion Chip. Your race number needs to be worn on your front so that you can be identified and gain access to the start/finish system. You will also need your race number to access the baggage system.

You must wear your chip around your ankle and not your wrist. This will activate once you pass the start line and also as you finish to provide you will your own offical result. If you chip is not worn around your ankle, no time will be recorded.

Q	What time should I arrive at the Bupa Great Capital Run?

Not all runners set off at once; The starts of each wave have been staggered to allow for a better flow of runners across the course. This is to allow for you all to have a better run. The different wave start times are listed in the table below; This table also lists the time you should be in your assembly zone:

Q	What do I do when I arrive at the 2008 Bupa Great Capital Run?

When you arrive at Hyde Park please follow the signs and listen for the PA announcements helping to guide you to you warm up zone. Once the warm up is over follow signs/announcements to your assembly zone.

Before accessing your coloured zone, make sure that the letter on your race number (A, B or C) corresponds with the Gate letter where you access the assembly area. The start line is located on South Carriage Drive and it is behind this start line and along South Carriage Drive that runners will assemble. Orange and White numbers will assemble at the head of the field, followed by Green and Pink numbers, all will be clearly signed.

Q	My running partner is allocated into a different zone than me. Can we run together?

Runners will be asked to assemble in their coloured zones. When registering for the race, you were asked for your predicted running time, from this you have been allocated to a coloured wave, this is to pair you with runners of similar ability as yourself and make sure that you have the best run possible. The assemby procedure has been revised further for 2008 and runners are now allocated to a lettered zone (A, B or C) within their coloured race zone. If you wish to move to a different zone the following rule applies. Runners may move down a zone but not up. So if your in White Zone A and your friend is in White Zone C, you will be able to move to this zone, however your friend will not be able to move up to White Zone A.

Q	Help! I have not received my race pack for the 2008 Bupa Great Capital Run?

All race packs have now been mailed to all confirmed runners with the last remaining packs being mailed w/c 7th July 2008. Please call our hotline 0845 389 2200 If you’re race pack does not arrive by 14th July 2008.

There will be an information point at the start of the race from 8am on Sunday if you have any last minute enquires. We will also be open on Saturday between 12pm to 4pm if this is more convenient. We will be located within Hyde Park on South Carriage Drive between the Prince of Wales Gate and Edinburgh Gate. It will be clearly sign posted “Great Run Information”
